New Orleans has some rather relaxed liquor laws. For example, when you leave a bar, you can take your drink with you anywhere so long as it is in a plastic "go cup" [cruising crystal]. You can drink on the streets in New Orleans. But, you are not allowed to carry glass containers or cans.

Oz is one of New Orleans best high energy dance clubs. Since Oz opened its doors, it has been the place to party until daybreak. Details Magazine ranked Oz as one of the top 50 clubs to party in the country. Gambit Magazine ranked Oz as New Orleans #1 dance club. Oz has been awarded the Bar of The Year, Dance Bar of the Year and Show Bar of the Year awards at the Gay Appreciation Awards. Once you experience Oz, you'll understand all the excitement. The greatest thing going for Oz is its location. Oz is located on St. Ann and Bourbon Street which turns into "Mardi Gras Central" during the weeks of Carnival. If you get to Oz early, you might be able to squeeze your way to the rail of their balcony which overlooks a crowd hungry for beads. A traditional Mardi Gras chant is "show me your (insert body part here)!" Once the merchandise is properly displayed, the exhibitor is thrown a pair of Mardi Gras beads.
